Digital Signatures

Electronic documents that are issued for construction are digitally signed with Gnu Privacy Guard (GPG) software. GnuPG is a complete and free implementation of the OpenPGP standard as defined by RFC4880 (also known as PGP).

Our standard is to create detached signatures so the original documents are unchanged and still compatible with the widest variety of software. Most of the documents we sign are PDF files. The digital signature file will have a matching file name and .SIG extension. We do not send SIG files via email, they are only distributed over an encrypted connection via our web server.

Verifying files:
The easiest low tech way to verify a document is to call us. If there is any reason you suspect a document had been tampered with, or is not our work, please call us.

We plan to automate the distribution of documents and signatures in the future. For now, you will need to call us to arrange the secure transfer of signatures if you need the signature associated with a document.
